The Marlin Hotel was constructed by famed art deco architect Lawrence Murray Dixon in 1939 and later acquired by Island Records founder Chris Blackwell in 1988. The new owner and his outstanding designer Barbara Hulanicki, were instrumental in transforming Miami’s South Beach. The Marlin’s design, location and recording studio ‘South Beach Studios’ made the building the centre of South Beach’s transformation.

Chisel & Mouse have sculpted the stunning facade.

Each of our architectural sculptures is handmade in our studio in Sussex, England. They are made of strong plaster that has a reassuring weight and smooth, cool feel. The window frames and door are made of etched brass. Stylish ornaments, gifts or presents that are handmade in Britain and look fabulous on a desk, shelf or wall.

Sustainably Crafted

We all want the world to be a better place. We are trying to do our bit. We reuse, recycle and use less where we can. We search out sustainable local suppliers. We sponsor grassroots sports for the local youth, donating both money and time. We sponsor local environmental projects. We know we can do more but we're making a start!

Handmade

We hand make all of our models. Chisel & Mouse is the combination of an artisan’s approach (the chisel) with modern innovation and transformative technologies (the mouse). By capturing life and its big ideas in miniature, the brand celebrates the beauty of our industrialised world.
