UK ARCHITECTURE MODELS

No country of comparable size has produced a more varied tradition of building. The United Kingdom's architectural history spans Roman occupation and Norman cathedrals, the Georgian town planning of Edinburgh's New Town and Bath, the industrial ambition of Victorian Britain, the Modernist experiments of the 1930s, and the postwar Brutalism that still divides opinion today. This collection reflects that breadth.

There are Art Deco set pieces here — Broadcasting House, the Hoover Building, the Carreras Black Cat Factory, the Arsenal Stadium at Highbury — alongside Modernist landmarks like the Isokon Building in Hampstead and Centre Point on the edge of Soho. There is Georgian restraint in Charlotte Square and Baroque confidence in Nicholas Hawksmoor's Christ Church Spitalfields. There are power stations, football grounds, underground stations, seaside hotels, and civic buildings that are among the finest of their era.

Four buildings are by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, whose Glasgow School of Art, Hill House, Willow Tearooms, and House for an Art Lover represent the full range of his achievement. London accounts for the majority of the collection — if you're looking specifically for London buildings, or specifically for Scotland, we have dedicated collections for both.
