London Cityscape (XL) — 3D Map of Central London at 1:2500

This is a different London model entirely. Where the standard London Cityscape focuses on the Square Mile at 1:5000, the XL covers a much wider stretch of central London — from Trafalgar Square in the west to the Tower of London in the east, and from the Houses of Parliament in the south to the British Museum in the north — at 1:2500 scale.

At £4,000 it's a considered commission rather than an impulse purchase. But for the right wall — a large living space, a boardroom, a reception — it's one of the most striking pieces we make.

The area

The model takes in the full historic core of central London at a scale where individual buildings, streets and open spaces are clearly legible. Trafalgar Square and the riverfront at Westminster anchor the western edge, with the Houses of Parliament and the Thames running along the south. The City of London — the Square Mile — fills the eastern half of the frame, with the Tower of London at its far corner. The British Museum marks the northern boundary. Between them: the Strand, Fleet Street, St Paul's Cathedral, the Tate Modern across the river, Southwark, Borough Market, the Millennium Bridge. Two millennia of London compressed into a single piece, at a scale that does it justice.

Construction and display

The XL is constructed from 3D printed tiles mounted on a white backboard — a different construction to the resin-cast standard and large format models, and one that allows the significantly larger dimensions this format requires. It is supplied with a hanging system for wall display and can also be laid flat on a large table or surface.
