CITYSCAPES — 3D MAPS
Our cityscape models are three-dimensional maps of the world's most compelling cities — most cast in white resin, framed in wood, and accurate to the nearest metre at a scale of 1:5000. They can be wall-hung as striking cityscape wall art or displayed flat on a desk or tabletop. Each one is handmade in our West Sussex studio from satellite data, capturing the streets, blocks, waterways and building forms of a city in a single frame.
What makes a good 3D cityscape? We think it comes down to the legibility of the city's own logic — the feature that makes it unlike anywhere else. Amsterdam has its concentric canal rings. Paris has Haussmann's twelve boulevards radiating from the Arc de Triomphe. Chicago has its rigid Jeffersonian grid. London has the piecemeal organic sprawl of two thousand years of growth. Seen from directly above at the same scale, the differences are immediate and striking — which is why we particularly enjoy displaying these cityscape maps side by side.
Most models in the range are resin casts finished and framed by hand. Frame options are light or dark stained oak; an optional acrylic case is available; and most models offer an optional blue finish for rivers, canals and coastlines. Cities currently available include New York, Venice, Rome, Berlin, Florence, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Washington DC, Zurich and more. Larger format versions of London, New York and Paris are also available.
